Protective gear for ATV and motorcycle riding
Cross or modular helmet? What does an armour jacket protect? How do you load an ATV into a pickup? A protective gear guide with MEGA accessories.
Whatever you ride, the first step to riding safely is the right gear. This article covers helmet types, the armour jacket and a loading ramp that makes transporting your vehicle easier, using MEGA’s accessories as examples.
Helmet: on every ride
A helmet is the most important piece of riding gear and should be worn on every ride, even a short one. It should fit snugly, neither pinching nor moving around, so always try sizes on.
Cross helmet
Our cross helmet with goggles is a peaked helmet for motocross, enduro and ATV riding, supplied with goggles. The peak shields you from sun and from mud thrown up by the wheels. It comes in five designs and sizes S, M and L.
Modular helmet
Our modular helmet has a flip-up chin bar: a full-face helmet when closed, an open-face helmet when lifted. It has a built-in sun visor and an interchangeable front visor, and comes in matte black, white and carbon pattern. It is a practical choice for scooter riders in town.
Armour jacket
Our body armour jacket protects the chest, back, shoulders, elbows and arms, and is designed for motocross, enduro and ATV riding. It comes in kids, youth and adult sizes, so it is worth a look for children riding a Kids ATV or a Mini Kross too.
Other gear
Alongside a helmet and armour, gloves, boots that cover the ankle and long trousers protect skin and joints in a fall. Off-road, wear goggles to protect your eyes.
Loading ramp
If you need to load your ATV or motorcycle into a pickup or van to get to where you ride, a loading ramp makes the job easier. It is light, strong aluminium, and a single ramp carries 380 kg. Use one on its own or two as a pair; it is delivered from stock straight away.
