The MEGA Blade 700 4x4 is MEGA’s biggest-engined ATV. Its liquid and oil-cooled 700 cc EFI petrol engine, automatic gearbox with low range and push-button 4x4 are built for rough ground and towing. This article goes through its specification point by point.
Engine: 700 cc, EFI, liquid and oil cooling
The engine is 700 cc and gets its fuel through electronic injection (EFI). With EFI, an electronic control unit sets how much fuel the engine receives based on readings from its sensors. Cooling uses both coolant and oil. We explain EFI and cooling types in our EFI article and our cooling article.
Gearbox: what does P-R-N-H-L mean?
The Blade 700’s automatic gearbox has five positions:
- P (Park): the vehicle is locked in park.
- R (Reverse): reverse gear.
- N (Neutral): neutral.
- H (High): the normal riding range.
- L (Low): the low range, for steep climbs, slow controlled progress and towing.
Push-button 4x4 and differential lock
Drive mode and the differential lock are switched with a button. The front and rear differentials are independent. A differential lock makes both wheels on an axle turn together, so when one wheel slips the other keeps pulling.
